BRI Finance Distributes Rp 635.36 Billion in Heavy Equipment Financing by May 2025

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. PT BRI Multifinance Indonesia (BRI Finance) said that the performance of heavy equipment financing distribution is still relatively stable.

President Director of BRI Finance, Wahyudi Darmawan explained that fluctuations in coal prices have indeed had an impact on the performance of heavy equipment financing.

However, the company has implemented a sector diversification strategy and stricter risk management to maintain the quality of the financing portfolio.

"Heavy equipment financing is still relatively stable, but is greatly influenced by the dynamics of coal prices. We continue to diversify sectors and strengthen risk management," Wahyudi told Kontan, Monday (23/6).

Commercial or heavy equipment financing that has been distributed by the company is currently recorded at IDR 635.36 billion until May 2025.

Of this amount, the dominant sector is the trade sector such as manufacturing factories, logistics & warehousing, ports, and retail or wholesale.

Unlike other finance companies that focus on the mining sector, Wahyudi said, BRI Finance actually noted the trade sector as the main contributor to heavy equipment financing.

Some of them include manufacturing plants, logistics and warehousing, ports, to retail or wholesale. "The trade sector contributes around 11% to our heavy equipment financing portfolio," explained Wahyudi.

Furthermore, Wahyudi said that BRI Finance did not set a specific target for financing in the coal sector. The company's focus is more directed at developing healthy and sustainable commercial financing in various productive sectors.
