CIMB Niaga Finance (CNAF) Says the Electric Vehicle Market Remains Promising

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. CIMB Niaga Finance (CNAF) believes the electric vehicle market in Indonesia has begun to take shape and its future prospects remain positive.

CIMB Niaga Finance President Director Ristiawan stated that public awareness is growing in favor of choosing environmentally friendly vehicles due to cost-effectiveness.

This is reflected in the company's new financing for electric and hybrid vehicles, which reached IDR 712 billion. This figure represents a 114% increase compared to the same period last year of IDR 334 billion.

"In fact, the company previously targeted a total financing distribution for environmentally friendly vehicles (electric and hybrid) of IDR 665 billion by the end of 2025," Ristiawan explained to Kontan, Thursday (August 28, 2025).

Regarding the plan to end incentives for imports of fully electric cars next year, Ristiawan stated that the government's incentives are sufficient to encourage the growth of green transportation modes to support sustainability.

"Regarding collaboration between the Brand Holder Association (APM) and local manufacturers, we are open to collaboration opportunities, with CNAF's focus on providing financial solutions for the community," he said.

For your information, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) previously stated that there has been no discussion regarding the continuation of incentives for imports of completely built-up (CBU) electric cars in the coming year.
